Is it always one to one ?Group coaching is very effective when we deal with issues which are universal and applicable to the organization/group. It is also useful to exchange ideas and identify with each other.

Does one have to sign up for a specific period of regular sessions for it to be effective ?Coaching is intended to bring in transformation of some kind to achieve the desired outcomes. Transformation takes time and effort to happen. Number of sessions depends on the individual, specifics of the issues and their commitment

How can we monitor if we are progressing ?When your goal is measurable, your results will be measurable too, be it physically or in terms of changes in self and others. We need to give it suitable time and have patience

Does coaching have to be only one sphere ( personal life, career etc) or is it more broad based for life choices ?Coaching is for all aspects of one’s life. It is all about how we look at things, how open we are to consider another perspective and how willing we are to bring in the changes needed to see the benefits.

How will I know I need coaching ? Any signs I can watch for?We all look for progress in life. When we feel stuck, uneasy, feel trapped, disoriented, disappointed, either at cross-roads or see a deadend. When you are looking at ‘enriching’ your life, strike a balance and make informed decisions

How will I know if the coach is right for me ?Coach-Coachee relationship is very important in order to bring in the desired results. In the first discovery session, both of them will understand if they could build the needed rapport and are the right fit for each other.

How is coaching different from therapy and counseling?Generally speaking, coaching is more focused on helping you achieve your future goals, while psychotherapy tends to have more of a past and present focus. ... The focus in psychotherapy is more on healing from the past, while the focus in coaching is more on getting you to where you wish to be next.

How can I convince my son that he will really benefit from coaching ?Make the initial effort to try the first session. When they see the way things work and how it helps them think and work better, they will be convinced. It does take a bit more time and effort to hold the young.
